What is the legal structure of Wayward Woman Giving Fund? (WWGF)
WWFG is Auspiced by the Society of Australian Punk Inc. (SOAP).
SOAP is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
Is my donation to WWGF tax-deductible?
No. At this stage we do not have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.
Does 100% of my donation go to the grant recipients? How are administrative expenses covered?
Yes! 100% of your donation will go to grant recipients.
Administration costs are minimal and are covered privately.
Does anyone at Wayward Woman Giving Fund get paid?
No. WWGF committee members are volunteers and none of them receive any payments or material benefits of any kind from their participation. They also donate funds to WWGF.
Is there a minimum amount of funds that are required as a Donation?
The Wayward Woman Giving Fund believes that anyone can be a philanthropist. That’s why we invite individuals from all walks of life to donate. There is no minimum amount that is required for you to make a donation to us.
What are the benefits of donating to Wayward Woman Giving Fund?
You are joining a community of like-minded individuals who have a philanthropic mindset.
You are supporting cultural initiatives that are empowering to Australian creatives and the wider community.
Do you only allow women to make a donation?
No, we also welcome men to become donors and support our Giving Fund community.
Do I have to live in Victoria to Donate?
No. We welcome donations from individuals who live in all parts of Australia, but at this stage we are focusing on supporting Victorian projects and programs.
How does Wayward Woman Giving Fund stay in touch with its donors?
We use our Website, Facebook, Instagram, email and our Newsletter to stay in touch with our donors.
Am I or is my organisation eligible to apply for a grant?
Wayward Woman Giving Fund (WWGF) awards a yearly grant to a selection of individual projects and programs that:
Have the goal of creating social change through art and culture.
Have a strong focus on working collaboratively with communities.
Programs must be run by an organisation. It is preferred that the organisation has a Not-for-profit or Charitable status – i.e., be an incorporated association or an organisation that is registered as a charity with the Australian Charity and Non-Profit Commission (ACNC).
Individual projects need to send an invoice and have a valid ABN.
Overseas registered charities are not eligible to apply.
How do you decide who gets the grants?
We welcome eligible individuals and organisations to fill out an application form that can be found on our website.
A grants subcommittee that is made up of between 5-7 individuals will review and evaluate the applications for voting.
The results of the voting are then announced to the successful grant recipients, and on social media.
